Sedona Arizona Postcards Then and Now

Top: The photo she took.

Bottom: The postcard her mother sent years prior.

When I go on vacation, I take tons of photos of every beautiful view to ensure I will never forget the sights I have seen. One of my clients had a very unique experience after capturing a photo of a stunning mountainscape on her family vacation in Sedona, Arizona. She took a snapshot of the infamous red mountains that characterize Sedona and came home to something so surprising. While looking through a box of old family photos, she found a postcard that was given to her by her mom when she had visited Sedona years ago. Holding the photo she had taken on her trip, next to the old postcard, the resemblance was uncanny. The photos were taken in the exact same location! This story was what sparked the journey of turning these images into a custom abstract landscape painting. Your stories are a huge part of the process of making these one-of-a-kind artworks. I create travel art that becomes truly yours.

Customized Travel Pieces for Every Traveler

The experience my forementioned client had was not an isolated situation! Commemorating your travels with a piece of unique art is for every type of traveler. When it comes to transforming your original travel photos into an abstract landscape art piece, it is easy. All you have to do is come to me with that beloved travel photo and the memories surrounding it, and I will take it from there crafting a special, hand-painted masterpiece just for you. It’s a one-of-a-kind way to turn your travel photos into beautiful works of original artwork for your home or office.

Why Choose My Work?

When you travel, there are two kinds of souvenirs: trinkets that clutter your house, and real, lifelong treasures. These real treasures are in-the-moment photos—photos that remind you to be thankful for every opportunity you’ve been given on your journey. While photos are some of the finest treasures that can come out of your travels, besides your memories, these days, we take so many photos they can get lost in translation. That's why taking that extra step is so important. Finding the best photo from your travels and allowing me to do the hardwork of painting a beautiful and unique artwork will present you the best souvenir you could ever ask for.

What Are People Saying About My Work?

According to my customers, my travel art makes an amazing addition to any home. My artwork doesn’t necessarily look like what you would see on postcards, it's more personal and reminds people of the places they’ve been—and that’s why I love doing what I do. Here are some reviews I have received from previous customers.

Kerri with Travels with Birdy said —

"When I saw Ashley's paintings of southwestern landscapes, I immediately thought of a postcard from Sedona from the 1970s that is sentimental to me and thought it would be neat to have a painting made of it. I loved Ashley's style and knew she also appreciated the landscapes of Sedona and would understand the emotional connection to the postcard. The process of commissioning a painting was really easy! I had never done that before, but Ashley was very professional. I couldn't love the finished product more! It will become a treasured heirloom in our family, alongside the postcard."

“One of my favorite travel experiences was when I went kayaking in the sea caves on lake superior with my daughter. We took a lot of photos and I was really happy to see that I could have one of them recreated as a piece of art. I was so happy with the outcome and it is such a special piece to have in my home.”

I would love for you to be the next person I assist in creating a unique piece of travel art! Start by checking out my commissions page for rates and send an inquiry so we can get the ball rolling.
